Revoking access takes time and disrupts neighbours; halting issuance — halt-issuance — is immediate, and nobody else's work stops.
Two clocks side by side: revocation-based containment with its propagation lag and collateral disruption to other occupants of the same gate, versus halt-issuance — immediate, zero revocation lag, nothing to revoke, allowance frozen.
Halt-issuance is QuantData's own containment for token-tier gates (AberranceRung: CONTAIN) and requires no authority-plane round trip — while the entitlement change itself still crosses the plane as a PermissionSuspensionRequest.
A live POST /granted-operation/containment/halt makes the next grant request refuse in real time while a second gate keeps minting live inside the halt window; resume restores issuance; the PermissionSuspensionRequest for the entitlement change renders on the authority-plane side (the revocation clock it is contrasted against is a labeled illustration).
